Mistakes happen and, unfortunately, some mistakes keep showing up on audit letters year after year. Join the WP&BC Portland Chapter as we welcome seasoned auditors Anne Tankersley and Claudia Perry from Geffen Mesher for a lively presentation on this important topic.
Taking a cue from the best hits of the 90s, Anne and Claudia will explore the audit issues that seem to be on perpetual repeat, identify some of the most common mistakes they encounter, and discuss the practical steps employers and their service providers can take to spot and prevent them before they become bigger problems.
Whether you're looking to stop recurring errors before they make a comeback or simply strengthen your organization's audit readiness, you'll leave with actionable insights, best practices, and a fresh perspective on building stronger processes and controls.
About the Speakers:
Anne holds a bachelor’s degree in economics and French studies and joined Geffen Mesher in 2008. She enjoys helping plan sponsors navigate regulatory requirements, fulfill their fiduciary responsibilities, and support employees in achieving greater retirement security.
Claudia joined Geffen Mesher full-time in 2016 after completing an internship with the firm. She has more than nine years of experience auditing employee benefit plans, including 401(k) plans and ESOPs and dedicates the majority of her time to this specialization. Claudia works closely with plan sponsors to strengthen plan administration and implement best practices. She is passionate about helping clients maintain well-administered retirement plans that support participants' long-term financial security.
